🍪 Well, THIS was a sweet little find! Jo's Bakery in Eldon. 😋

With both my husband and daughter having Alpha-Gal, finding treats that work with food allergies isn’t always easy.

So when I heard about a 100% gluten & dye-free bakery with options for Alpha-Gal, dairy, egg, soy, sugar and corn restrictions…you KNOW I had to investigate. 😂

And by investigate, I mean eat baked goods. Tough job. Somebody had to do it. 🤷‍♀️ 🧁

Does allergy-friendly actually taste GOOD? YES IT DOES~!

And I’m guessing I’m not the only one who didn’t know this place was here.

🍂 Fall at the Lake Has Entered the Chat…

How do you know FALL is HERE at Lake of the Ozarks?

🚤 The boat traffic starts disappearing…

🍽️ You can get into a restaurant without developing a long-term relationship with the hostess…😂

🩴 I start pretending summer is over…while still refusing to put the flip-flops away.

👙 And you start seeing more sweatshirts than swimsuits…sometimes all in the same day.

Fall at the Lake...I am READY for you! ❤️🍂🎃

THE FAMILY INVASION ❤️

9 grandkids. 7 adults. 3 dogs. 5 days. One house.
😳😂❤️

And somehow…we all survived!

There was fishing, swimming, boating, tubing, jet skiing, paddle boarding, a talent show, a cardboard boat regatta, slushies, desserts, games, puzzles and a WHOLE lot of beautiful chaos.

Was my house quiet? Absolutely not. 😂
Was it clean? Let's not talk about that.
Would I do it all over again? In a heartbeat. ❤️

And really…where else can you do ALL of this right in your own backyard? 🌊❤️

These are the days I love most about living at the Lake. The house is finally quiet again…and I'm already missing the noise. 🥰

🍗 THE GREAT LAKE FRIED CHICKEN HUNT — STOP #2!

Well, you all sent us to the Branding Iron on the Westside…and being the dedicated researchers we are, we went. 😂

The judging panel consisted of:

🍗 Husband - Fried Chicken Snob…excuse me, Connoisseur
🍗 Me - Chicken Tender Specialist
🍗 Palmer - Kids Meal Division 😎

We sampled. We discussed. We took our responsibilities VERY seriously.

And after two stops…

🏆 THE BRANDING IRON TAKES THE LEAD!

The chicken was good at both places, but those sides at the Branding Iron pushed it over the top for us. Good food, cozy & clean, great service…and definitely a place we'll go back to.

But TWO chicken dinners do not make us experts.
Okay…my husband probably thinks they do. 😂

We need STOP #3!
Where are you sending us next for the BEST fried chicken at the Lake? 👇🍗

I found this Little Free Library, but then I discovered there’s an actual MAP showing more of them around Lake of the Ozarks!
