Honestly, the idea "hatched" when we tested our own home. Having a skeletal system in our home, we too thought we were "o.k" only to find out our home tested at 13.5 pCi/L! That is almost 3.5 times the action limit. We were challenged to find a licensed contractor that performed remediation that we felt was knowledgeable, courteous and someone we would want in our own home. During this time I had been working for years as an IBEW Residential Electrician. I began my education process while still working as a full time Electrician through the University of Illinois - Chicago Radon Course. With the effort and time it took to learn about the physics of the problem, I set out to build my business. Having a combination of a business background, coupled with trade skills ~ I took the leap of faith and haven't looked back since! Let me share something unique about our business: Guardian Radon & Electric has built our brand around the Engineering, Efficiency, and Economics of our radon systems. Multiple members of our team have their Electrical License, while the others have 25+ years construction background. This level of trade expertise allows us to not only customize systems for the particular needs of the home, it provides our customers with an exceptional product that meets all code compliance at State and Local levels.
