I’m making a direct job offer to the employees of the Oswego Friendly’s location who are facing unemployment due to the sudden and unexpected closure. We have temporary, seasonal positions at the Oswego DPW for summer help available from May to September and I am offering a job to those being let go from Friendly’s. This offer gives the employees an opportunity to continue earning a paycheck while they look for new, long term employment.

Remember “the blues” apartment buildings on Utica and 5th Avenue? Our code enforcement department started working with the owners to improve the property. Now, they’re being transformed this summer with approximately a $1 million investment from Apts On Fifth to offer high quality apartments near campus. Early this morning we went to tour the renovated buildings and talked about the improvements coming this summer. A big win for this neighborhood!
