Everything was going great… until a TREE fell on the roof 😳🌳🏠

Yep. That happened.

My sellers did everything right to prepare their home for market - and it paid off with multiple offers.

Then came a few bumps in the road. We lost our first buyer, went under contract with a backup offer and then… those crazy storms sent a tree onto the roof.

The good news: We had the right people in place. One of my trusted roofing contractors stepped in, worked through the insurance process and we kept the sale moving forward.

Yesterday, WE CLOSED! 🎉

The buyers got a brand-new roof and gutter system, and my sellers get to move forward with the beautiful new home they’re building.

Real estate doesn’t always go according to plan. Having the right people beside you when it doesn’t can make all the difference.

Real estate adventure of the day… 🏡🤓

While previewing a home today, I found the original plans sitting on the kitchen counter and went down the BEST little real estate history rabbit hole.

I thought it might be a Sears kit home.

Nope! Meet The Aladdin Company. (I had never heard of them!)

Aladdin began selling its “Readi-Cut” homes in 1906 before Sears entered the kit-home business and continued selling homes until 1981, decades after Sears stopped.

And this particular home appears to be an Aladdin “Vernon” from 1963.

The original Aladdin catalog page AND full-size construction drawings have stayed with the house for more than 60 years! The plans are dated May 29, 1963 and even bear the original owner’s name.

I absolutely LOVE stumbling across pieces of local history like this while doing my job.

✨ A closing day I’ll be smiling about for a long time!✨

A couple months ago a sweet seller found me online and reached out. We connected right away and I had the privilege of helping her navigate a big life transition.
