My favorite part of today?
It wasn’t a closing.
It wasn’t a new listing.
It wasn’t writing up a contract.
This morning, I drove out to show a property, only to have the potential buyers never show up. As the minutes ticked by, I’ll admit I was a little irritated. Time is precious, and I had plenty of other things waiting for me.
But then something unexpected happened.
I climbed into the sandbox with four wide-eyed little boys and spent the next 40 minutes making sand pies and cupcakes decorated with dandelions. We practiced counting as we carefully placed weeds into our creations, and I watched their faces light up with every masterpiece. More than anything, my heart was full seeing how much they’ve grown to trust me each time I visit their home.
Forty minutes passed before I knew it.
Normally, a no-show would have been the frustrating part of my day. Instead, it became a reminder that sometimes the best moments aren’t the ones we plan for. They’re the unexpected pauses that remind us to slow down, be present, and appreciate the simple things.
Real estate is about properties, contracts, and closings. But it’s also about people. And today, four little boys reminded me of that. I’m so truly blessed ❤️
