Happy Valentine's Day, Kansas City ❤️ I am glad we made The Heart of America our slogan instead of "Gateway to the Southwest" :)

Heart of America officially adopted on March 15, 1915, this slogan replaced “Gateway to the Southwest” and has defined our city for over 100 years.

This piece comes from a 1919–1920 advertising campaign by the Kansas City Convention & Publicity Bureau reminding the country that KC wasn’t just central on the map…but that more carloads of meat we're shipped from Kansas City than from any other city except Chicaqo. LOL

The heart has never left KC. Happy Valentine's Day!
