I rarely post negative reviews, but I feel this experience is worth sharing.
In May, I purchased a brand-new 2026 GMC Yukon Denali from Robert Brogdon GMC in Olathe, Kansas. A few days later, I discovered hail damage across the roof. I was never informed that the dealership had recently experienced a significant hailstorm before my purchase.
When I contacted the dealership after the Memorial Day weekend, I was told the lack of disclosure “must have fallen through the cracks.” As I continued looking into the situation, I spoke with others who indicated the dealership was aware of the hail event and that affected vehicles were supposed to be identified with a colored card. My vehicle did not have one.
I also made it clear that I was not willing to have a brand-new vehicle repaired for hail damage. That is not what I believed I was purchasing.
After we reached a resolution, I was told I would receive my first oil change at no charge and a complimentary tank of fuel—but only after I submitted a five-star review. I declined. I believe customer reviews should reflect genuine experiences, not be tied to incentives.
I also reached out directly to Executive General Manager Phil Skid on LinkedIn after receiving an automated request for a five-star review. Unfortunately, I never received a response.
I’m sharing this experience for one reason: to encourage anyone purchasing a new vehicle to inspect it carefully, ask direct questions about any prior damage or repairs, and make sure everything has been fully disclosed before signing the paperwork. Transparency and honesty are the foundation of good customer service.
