Sometimes I have imposter syndrome.

I compare my numbers to Alex Hormozi and Gary Vee and feel like I have no idea what I’m doing.

Then I remember, even though we talk about thousands and millions, even reaching a few hundred people is incredibly remarkable. For context, just imagine them all in a room. 😬

So, if you’re stuck overthinking your next move, whether it’s a podcast, a project, or something you’re passionate about, let this be a reminder. It’s never about the numbers, it’s about the connections and the value you create.

Here is an example of a deal we were working on. Targeted IRR is 18%.

This was the initial project, but we had unbelievable challenges in working through the zoning approval in Oregon, and the tenants changed since the inception of the project.

However, our analysis showed strong signs of growth in the area, and the new national credit tenants are pushing our IRR even higher than anticipated.

It's a testament to the importance of selecting the right location with the right analysis.

There seems to be a traditional path to scaling:
1. Start opening or acquiring practices with bank debt or personal finances
2. Grow as much as you can
3. Sell to or partner with private equity when you've gone as far as you can take the business

The other path less traveled is starting your own fund. You become the private equity firm by raising the money for your own deals.

Two lessons from competing on American Ninja Warrior:

1. Focus on each obstacle individually in business. Instead of being overwhelmed by multiple variables, just think about the next individual task. This approach will make tasks more manageable and improve performance.

2. Practice patience in business. Striving to become the best immediately can lead to overtraining, injuries, and burnout. Recognize the need to rest and regroup, understanding that progress may take longer than expected. Going slower can ultimately take you further.
