Storm Damage? Don’t Make a $20,000 Mistake in 20 Minutes!
After the storm, roofing companies are EVERYWHERE.
I counted 8 roofing trucks last night just driving from my house to a friend’s house here in Owasso.
Most were companies I’ve never even heard of.
A lot of homeowners end up going with the first company that knocks, calls, or drops a flyer. And hey… sometimes that works out fine.
But if you don’t personally know someone who has used them, slow down for a second.
If something feels “off” or you’re not fully comfortable, there’s usually a reason.
Get a second opinion from someone you trust.
A few things homeowners should know:
✅ In Oklahoma, you have 72 hours to cancel most roofing contracts signed at your home without penalty. (See first pic.)
✅ You do NOT need estimates for your insurance company.
Even if someone tells you that you do, I promise you’re wasting your time. Insurance companies do not care about contractor quotes.
And one more thing…
If a roofing company offers to “cover” or “waive” your deductible, that is ILLEGAL in Oklahoma. (See second pic.)
Not “kind of illegal.”
Felony illegal. For the contractor AND the homeowner. 🥴
Does it happen every day? Yep.
Would I trust a company willing to commit insurance fraud before they even start my roof?
Absolutely not.
You agreed to pay your deductible when you purchased your policy. That’s part of the contract.
Just wanted to put this out there because storm season can get WILD, and good homeowners get pressured into bad decisions every year.
If you need a second opinion or just want me to look over paperwork before you sign something, now or in the future, I’m always happy to help.
