One thing I’ve learned over the last 6+ years in real estate is this:

The lender you choose matters. A LOT.

Most people think a lender’s job is just to get you approved and to the closing table. While that’s obviously important, there is so much more to a smooth transaction than just the loan itself.

Communication can make or break a deal.

I’ve worked with William Gomez and his team The Mortgage Link- Gomez Team since I became a Realtor in 2020. Not only have they handled my own personal mortgage and mortgages for all of my sons, but they’ve also helped the majority of my buyers over the years.

Yes, they work hard to get buyers pre-approved quickly. Yes, they’ll send me a pre-qualification letter when I need one… even at 8:00 p.m. on a Sunday. But what truly sets them apart is their communication.

From the moment I introduce a client to them until long after closing, they stay in touch. Every Thursday they provide updates to both my buyers and me so everyone knows exactly where we stand. No guessing. No wondering if paperwork is sitting on someone’s desk. Even a year after closing, they reach out to my clients to wish them a "Happy Home Buying Anniversary" and just to check in and see how the clients are doing. The they send me a quick email to let me know they had a good conversation with the client.

That level of service is rare.

Right now I’m helping repeat clients purchase some land. Unfortunately, The Mortgage Link doesn’t offer land loans, so we’re working with another well-known local lender (whom I will not name).

To be completely honest… it’s been one of the most frustrating transactions I’ve experienced.

Communication has been almost nonexistent, not just with me but with my clients as well. Emails go unanswered for days. Phone calls aren’t returned. My buyers and I are constantly wondering where things stand.

These clients have used William in the past for both of their home purchases & have even commented on how much they miss the communication they received during their previous purchases with William’s team.

This experience has reminded me just how important it is to choose the right lender.

So this is both a PSA and a huge THANK YOU.

William Gomez and everyone at The Mortgage Link… thank you. Thank you for caring about people, not just loans. Thank you for making communication a priority. Thank you for making my job easier and giving my clients an experience they deserve.

In just a few short years of adult life, they have worked hard, made smart decisions, and was able to use the equity from the sale of their previous home to put a sizable down payment on this one, pay off one of their cars, and knock out other debt.

That is how you build wealth, one smart move at a time. 🏡
