🚧 Road Work Update: East 96th Street North – Starting April 10
Contractors will begin the final phase of asphalt paving on East 96th Street North this Friday, April 10. The work will cover the section from the bridge over US-169 to North 119th East Avenue.
Drivers should expect the following:
• Work will start in the westbound lanes, with traffic reduced to one lane for approximately 8–10 days.
• Crews will then shift to the eastbound lanes, which will also be reduced to a single lane for another 8–10 days.
• During the eastbound lane work, the southbound US-169 on/off ramp will be closed for 3–5 days.
• Business access will remain open, though it may be limited at times.
• All work is weather permitting.
Once paving is complete, the lanes will be temporarily striped while the asphalt cures. Crews will then move to North 121st East Avenue (Smith Farm Road) to continue additional work toward Garnett Road.
Motorists are urged to use caution, expect delays, and consider alternate routes when possible.
