Remember: 🚗 🚘 🚙 ⚠️

Starting Monday, May 5: Owasso Public Works will begin construction on the 96th Street widening project, stretching from N. 119th E. Ave. to the U.S. 169 overpass.

Here’s what to expect:

• Additional through lanes and new turn lanes into businesses to ease congestion
• A wider entrance into Smith Farm Shopping Center for better traffic flow
• New traffic signals
• Fresh asphalt over the entire roadway
• A widened U.S. 169 off-ramp onto 96th Street
• New road striping

The project is expected to wrap up by April 2026.

Important Note: All businesses in the area will remain accessible throughout the project. The City and contractor will coordinate with businesses in advance if any entrances or approaches need to temporarily close.

Attention:
Starting August 28th, 2024, contractor working on the East 96th Intersection Improvements project will be moving traffic control on the north side of East 96th Street North to begin work on the west bound lanes. As always, use caution and expect delays due to construction activities.

New East bound lanes of traffic will be open for use when this change occurs.

ATTENTION:

As part of the Garnett Culvert Improvements project, the contractor working on behalf of the City of Owasso will be placing traffic control starting Wednesday July 31st (see map). This project will be accomplished in three phases. West lanes (south bound) will be closed during the first phase which is anticipated to take approximately 50-60 days.

Please use caution and patience when in the area. Obey all traffic signage and flagmen. Construction Equipment will be entering and leaving the work zone.

The barbecue restaurant, located at 9500 N. 129th E. Ave., opened in mid-April and cut a ribbon with the Owasso Chamber of Commerce on Tuesday.

ATTENTION:

Work on the East 96th & North 129th intersection improvements project will begin Monday, July 15, 2024. The contractor will begin on the south lanes of East 96th Street North and work from the ODOT bridge moving east through North 129th East Avenue. Once complete, the contractor will move to the north side of 96th and work east to west up to the ODOT bridge. The area in green is also a part of the project and the contractor will be working on this section throughout the other phases of the project.

Again, work begins Monday July 15, 2024 as traffic control will be set. Please use extreme caution and expect delays. The project is scheduled to be substantially complete by November 27, 2024 and Final Completion is scheduled for December 27th, 2024.
