Great program for first time homebuyers that want to BUILD A NEW HOME!!

Kentucky Housing Corporation (KHC) announces the launch of the state’s first Shared Appreciation Mortgage (SAM) program, an innovative financing option designed to help more Kentuckians overcome one of the biggest barriers to homeownership: the upfront cost of buying a home.

The SAM program provides eligible homebuyers with a 0% interest loan of up to 25% of a home’s purchase price or appraised value to help cover down payment and closing costs. In exchange, KHC receives a corresponding share (up to 25%) of the home’s future appreciation.

The SAM program does not require any payments until the property is sold, refinanced, the first mortgage is fully paid off, or another maturity event occurs. At that time, homebuyers are required to repay the original SAM loan amount along with KHC’s proportionate share of any appreciation in the property's value.

“Many hardworking Kentuckians can afford a reasonable monthly mortgage payment, but struggle to save enough for a down payment. My twin sister and I went to Twinsfest in Twinsburg, OH this past weekend and it was a blast! This was our first visit to the festival and the theme was 80s - which for us GenX - was a blast from the past!!

I’m curious to know if any of you have a twin, children that are twins, twin siblings, any family members that are twins? 👯‍♀️

Kentucky has new laws when it comes to school busses. 🚌 🚌🛑

Let's make safety a top priority by knowing the rules of the road. Drivers need to know how a new Kentucky law (KRS 189.370) impacts what they should do if they see a bus with red flashing lights and an extended stop arm:

• When this occurs on a road with more than two lanes that doesn't have a raised or unpaved median, traffic in all directions and lanes must stop.

• The only exception to this law is on a four-lane or more road that includes a raised or unpaved median. In this instance, traffic opposite to the extended stop arm may proceed.

The Kentucky State Police's top priority is keeping everyone safe at school, work, home and on the road.
