❄️ Weekend Event Update ❄️Christmas on the Square Canceled

This morning, the City of Hartford and Ohio County Emergency Management spoke directly with the National Weather Service about the arctic air moving in this weekend. The NWS was firm and confident in its forecast. Friday night, the low of 12 will struggle to rise to the mid-20s Saturday. They are expecting a mid-day wind chill of 13° and strongly advising that all outdoor events be canceled for safety.

We were excited for this weekend, but we cannot in good conscience ask our vendors, volunteers, or attendees to face those conditions. Extreme cold not only creates safety risks, but it also significantly reduces turnout.

Why make the decision today? We made the decision today because the NWS has growing confidence in the forecast, and announcing early helps our vendors avoid unnecessary costs and preparation.

The Courthouse Players Theater presents "Southern Fried Funeral"! You are not going to want to miss this hilarious comedy featuring some of the county's best actors! Mark your calendars because this show will be on November 14, 15, 16, 20, 21, 22, 23. Thursday, Friday, and Saturday shows are at 7:30 pm. Sunday shows are at 2:30 pm. Friday-Sunday ticket prices are $10 for adults and $8 for students/senior citizens. The Thursday show will be half-priced night. Tickets that night will be $5 for adults and $4 for students/senior citizens! Come and enjoy this great show with us!
