As we wrap up Construction Appreciation Week, here’s a behind-the-scenes look at how Belair Beltway Plaza’s newest addition came together.

Before Lakein’s Jewelers opened its doors, there was an unfinished space that needed to become a fully functioning retail store. Our Tenant Improvement Construction team oversaw the project from start to finish, working closely with the tenant, contractors, and other DSB departments throughout the build-out. From coordinating work in the field to working through project details and addressing challenges along the way, our team kept the project on track as the space transformed.

As part of Construction Appreciation Week, we’re excited to share the latest progress at the Element by Marriott at Metro Centre!

The building is taking shape as structural framing progresses on the fourth floor, with additional framing and interior wall work underway on the first, second, and third floors. Exterior sheathing is also moving up the building, with waterproofing following as sections of the exterior are completed. Inside, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing work is underway on the first three floors, while interior wall installation continues throughout the building.

Next up, work on the fifth floor will begin with the installation of the concrete planks once the fourth-floor structural framing is complete.

We’re hiring a Controller to join our accounting team and oversee accounting operations across our operating entities.

Reporting directly to the CFO, this role will direct Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, financial reporting, budgeting, banking operations, and Yardi administration, while supporting accounting staff and key financial processes across David S. Brown.

We’re looking for someone with a minimum of eight years of accounting experience, with three to five years of real estate accounting experience preferred. An active CPA license and hands-on Yardi experience are required, along with strong leadership, analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

The space is ready for tenants to enjoy, featuring a conference and training center, tenant lounge, and fitness center with something to support every part of the workday.
