We are excited to announce the Lafayette County Employee of the Month for January is Carrie Traylor, the Records/Inventory Clerk for the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Department.
Carrie has lived in Lafayette County for 22 years and has worked 12 years with the Sheriff’s Department. Her responsibilities include managing the department’s purchasing and inventory system and ensuring the National Incident-Based Reporting System for the FBI is up to date.
“Carrie has a great work ethic and is always willing to serve others,” says Sheriff Joey East. “Whether it be employees, salesmen, or inmate families, Carrie cares for them, and we are blessed for her to be a part of our work family.”
During her tenure with the Sheriff’s Department, Carrie has seen it grow from 20 to 48 deputies — and Carrie tries to take care of them all.
“She’s like their mom. She makes sure they are happy and have what they need,” says Sheriff East.
According to Carrie, that opportunity to take care of everyone in the department is the best part of the job.
“I love being able to take care of everyone; they are like family to me,” she says. “I couldn’t have found a better place to work all these years.”
We are thankful for Carrie’s work and care for our county’s people. She is an invaluable part of our team!
