I think this is a favorite of mine . I can hear the sound of the shoes on The floor . I can hear the echoes of the voices and imagine the smells on a spring day as the get tangled in the lace curtains waving in the wind.

I’ve always loved this house on East Dewart St in Shamokin, PA. A grand old building tucked away on the hillside, and a solid haunted house candidate. 🫣

The house was built in 1905 by Morris Williams who, at the time, was president of the Susquehanna Coal Co. As best I can tell, the home stayed in the family until the mid-1980’s when A. Britton Longshore passed. Check the comments section for a newspaper article that was published in 1976 regarding the extensive collection of antiques and family history contained in the home. Sadly, shortly after Longshore’s death, an estate sale was held and many of the contents sold. Hopefully, the amazing family history items still survive.
