There are reports of a text conversation where an individual is impersonating the property owner/landlord and attempting to collect money from prospective tenants.

What the scammer is doing:

Claiming the listed for sale property is available for rent (it is not)
Refusing in-person showings prior to payment
Directing prospects to complete a Google Form application
Requesting a $70 application fee per adult
Asking for a $1,000 deposit upfront
Pressuring applicants by saying there are “multiple interested parties” and it is “first come, first served”

Please be advised:

Do not send money, application fees, or deposits without verifying the listing through a licensed REALTOR®
Do not rely on text-only communication from unknown individuals
When in doubt, contact the listing brokerage directly
