If you’re thinking of buying a home in the coming months, here is a quick guide of the basic Do’s and Don’ts every lender will look for.

The most important DON’T I can’t stress enough to my buyers is applying for new credit, making other big purchases like a new car, new furniture or charging large amounts on existing credit cards. Even withdrawing a large amount of money from your savings account will raise a red flag to your lender and the lender may require a written explanation for this expense.

DO NOT make big purchases until after escrow has closed. If you do, it may cause your final approval to be denied.
