Some interesting insights from Kane County today on resident age demographics. Kanab is the County seat- Kane County also includes the towns of Big Water, Church Wells, Clark Bench, and New Paria to the east of Kanab;
As well as Mt Carmel, Orderville, Glendale, and Alton to the North of Kanab.

Since 2010, the population of Kane County has shifted gradually to fewer young children and more senior residents aged 60 and older.

School enrollments are down, and Kane County is using community tax dollars to bolster senior services, including at the Active Living Centers (Kanab Center and Orderville).

As a county, we are adapting to these changes, ensuring resources are used thoughtfully to support residents today and into the future.

Super Exciting News. Lomaqatsi, a local icon of a home, is pending. Located in Greenehaven Arizona, it has views for days and a wrap around covered deck which you may never want to go back inside from. The home also sits perched on a canyon wall. Windows. Walls of Windows, and the homes unique pink color, have made it one people want to get inside and peak at. I am excited to welcome the new owners in a couple of weeks and more excited to see the future of this iconic area home. The Trump Administration is proposing a 50 year mortgage - get the scoop from Realtor.com

For homebuyers, a 50-year mortgage would offer lower monthly payments compared to a standard 30-year loan, but total interest paid would be much higher over the lifetime of the loan, and homeowners would gain equity at a slower pace.

In May, Darryl completed his Master’s Degree for Artificial Intelligence in Business at Arizona State University. This degree is a first-of-its-kind certification in the country. "Drawn by its stunning landscapes, strong sense of community, and the largest animal sanctuary in the country: Angie Woodberry moved to Kanab five years ago from nearby Page, Arizona. Her connection to Kanab had been slowly deepening ever since she founded Page Animal Adoption Agency, which worked closely with Best Friends. As time went on, it became clear that a life in Kanab and a career at Best Friends was the next step on her journey.

Two years later, Angie joined the local rock band "Mesozoic" as a lead vocalist armed with a pink tambourine. She immediately set about to broadening the groups radius and reach: lining up shows in places like Brianhead, Price, Helper, Colorado City, and, of course- Page, at the iconic Balloon Regatta. This year, she also began performing in a musical duo called "Blue Marble". In her free time: Angie loves kayaking, hiking, traveling, hanging out with friends over coffee, and doing her best to manage a household that is, in truth... ruled by the Cat.

In addition to her ongoing work at Best Friends: in August of 2023, Angie became a licensed Realtor in Utah. Real Estate made sense to her, because she feels that emotions run high both in animal welfare, and in changing homes. She seeks to show up with calm and compassion; honored to offer emotional support through the bitter and the sweet.
