If you have a 4x4 and the desire to explore, the surrounding mountains around Pagosa boast hundreds of miles of seasonal roads, well maintained trails, and technical rock crawling. All levels of technical skill.
Explore ghost towns. Camp by hidden ponds. Hike up to waterfalls. These trails and roads are old, and have a vivid story to tell to those who want to explore.
And for you Geocachers, over a 100 registered "treasures" out there to hunt for.
If you're curious, ask our live in caretaker. He has spent entire days out there exploring and can recommend the right trail for your level of experience and vehicle.
