Real estate fraud is becoming increasingly sophisticated, targeting brokers, agents, consumers, and transactions at every stage of the process. In this 60-minute webinar, participants will learn about the latest fraud trends impacting the real estate industry both nationally and statewide, including the rise of vacant land scams and phishing schemes aimed at real estate professionals.

Hosted by CAR General Counsel Scott Peterson, one of the most respected voices in Colorado real estate law, this webinar will help you identify today's most common scams before they derail a transaction or compromise your business.

He'll be joined by Traci Dowd, Special Agent in Charge of the Economic Crimes Unit for the Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI), who investigates financial crimes and fraud schemes across Colorado.

Attendees will hear real-world examples of how scammers are impersonating property owners, manipulating transactions, and using fraudulent Zoom and Google Meet invitations to gain access to brokerage systems and sensitive information. The session will cover common warning signs, practical prevention strategies, and steps to take when suspicious activity is identified.
