My mind is on growth whether we like it or not, I’ve been following a lot of posts on social media regarding all of the new subdivisions coming in on County Road 207 in East Palatka.
First of all, if the county wasn’t planning on that to be the growth corridor they would not have put in the fire station and ran all water lines. We all knew this was coming.
This is only my opinion for whatever that’s worth 35 years of selling real estate in Putnam County Florida…
People love Florida. They love the weather they love the taxes and they love the people.
So many people from all over the United States are moving to Florida still and the people that are here are not leaving.
We see a lot of Northerners moving to South Florida and then those people who still want to live in Florida are moving north growth is inevitable. I’m sure if any of the locals want to move there is somebody else that wants to take their place. We are just an awesome State.
I moved from Putnam County to St. John’s County several years ago. The growth in St. John’s County is unsustainable. Palatka is an easy commute at Under 30 minutes to get twice the house for half the money? It’s a no-brainer.
Change is coming, we all feel it. So plan accordingly. For the people that have the older homes that they have been waiting to sell now is the time before all of the new construction comes in the next couple of years. You will not be able to compete.
The next growth corridor in my opinion will be Satsuma and Welaka. There’s a lot going on there that they are not telling us but they have grants for water and sewer. Follow the water and sewer.
