I wanted to take this opportunity to update you on the operations of Anderson County FIre District due to the outbreak of the COVID-19.

1. WE WILL NOT BE CLOSED.
We’re still responding to fire and medical calls per our normal policies and procedures and in conjunction with Anderson County EMS.

2. If you or ACEMS needs us for assistance we’ll be there.

3. You may see extra precautions by our members making respiratory type calls. This could include masks and eye wear protection along with our standard gloves or medical gowns. Please don’t be offended. It’s for your protection as well as ours. We are acquiring some additional PPE to serve our community as well.

4. If you need to call 911 be open and honest about your condition. If you have flu like symptoms tell the 911 dispatcher.

5. If you’ve been exposed to the COVID -19 virus or have virus like symptoms please tell the dispatcher. 

6. We are continuing our in house training program for our members. However, we are excusing any member absences for the next month should members wish to not attend due to health precaution reasons.

I assure you, we are working with the CDC, public safety, EMS, law enforcement, the health department and many other partners to stay on top of this pandemic.
