I had a friend up North ask if I was going to leave the area since Tropical Storm or Cat1 Hurricane Nicole was heading directly towards Jupiter. So I thought a few pictures of our storm prep might explain what we do, since professional Home Watchers have to stay to protect our client’s homes & condos.

It’s been a busy few days with Rob Burton preparing homes/condos for the arrival of Tropical Storm or Cat 1 Hurricane Nicole 🌀 tonight around midnight.

All Hurricane Panels are installed, Accordion shutters closed and furniture & small projectiles around the house are brought inside for those clients that are not here in FL.

Spent time this afternoon checking out the weather in Juno Beach and Jupiter.

Wed UPDATE- Hurricane Ian

Good Afternoon,

Hurricane Ian is making landfall as I write this as a Cat 4, with winds up to 155mph, 2 mph shy of a Cat 5. Storm surge is predicted to be 12-18 feet! His track is to move NE over Orlando and Space coast then entering the Atlantic before making landfall again up in GA/SC.

Yesterday and today we are in a Tropical Storm Warning, outside the cone of uncertainty. This means that we will get bands of heavy rain/strong winds throughout the day but are not in danger of hurricane strength winds. PLEASE TAKE A DEEP BREATH, I know you’ve all been watching the news reports with concern. We dodged a big one here. There were numerous Tornado Warnings last night and at 3:30am today. In fact there was a confirmed tornado in Delray around 9:30pm, and we could see those warnings again today.

I am checking properties on our regular schedule meaning I am not doing a post-storm check on every home in the next 2 days. But, if you feel that you want me to make a separate visit to your property, please email me and I will fit it into my schedule as time permits.

🚨CATCH OF THE DAY 🚨

Today while doing a routine home inspection, we found a water stain on our client’s kitchen ceiling. After realizing that there’s a bathroom tub and toilet upstairs, it might indicate a small water leak. We let the homeowner know and someone will be out to investigate further. This is why you need a home watch service!

Follow-up: Plumber came out and replaced the cracked toilet fl**ge which caused the leak. If not caught early, this could have turned into a major water problem and ceiling collapse.

🚨 CATCH OF THE DAY🚨

Today we went to check on a client’s pool and found a problem with their pool autofill. Turns out the hose became disconnected from autofill due to the pressure. Fortunately there was no flood on their deck! I’ll work with the homeowner to get a new hose and the autofill will work like new. Problem solved!

Now this is a first... One of our clients who is out of the country and wants to purchase a puppy, asked me to visit this 11-week-old Teacup Yorkie and give him my feedback. Here’s my feedback: ADORABLE! Now I’ll help coordinate getting the pup on a plane to meet her new dad.

I wonder if this is the start of a new division... Signature Puppy Watch. What do you think?! 🐶🐾
