The 30-year fixed-rate mortgage averaged 7.29% this week, marking the fourth consecutive week of declines. Sam Khater, Freddie Mac's chief economist, notes the decrease, but potential homebuyers are still awaiting lower rates and increased inventory.

There is a lot of uncertainty in the economy and the housing market but there are at least a few things we can count on heading into 2024.
