Just received our group photos. Definitely one of the best experiences of my life to work with amazing teachers and students. Part of my letter to the students.

In the words of an old Chinese proverb, Lao Tzu once wrote that “a journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.” These three weeks in Beijing, China have been the most meaningful journey of my life, all because I got to walk it with you, my fellow teachers, and the wonderful Chinese people I met along the way. Looking back on my time at the University of Science and Technology Beijing and touring China, three words come to mind: joy, gratitude, and academia.

This is my home room class at the University of Science and Technology in Beijing. We have three sessions the first two the 1200 students rotate to over 40 teachers. The 3rd session I have the same students every day. It’s a three week summer program. These students are amazing. We work on expanding their English conversation skills through games, presentations, a talent show and so much more. It is an experience that has brought me joy, gratitude and learning from them.

As I head to Xi’an, China, to see the incredible Terracotta Warriors and then on to Beijing to teach, I’m feeling incredibly grateful and excited.
This journey marks my 50th country—a milestone I never imagined when I first started traveling. Every country has taught me something new, and I’m thankful for the people, cultures, and experiences that have shaped my life along the way.
I’m especially looking forward to spending the next three weeks teaching university students our culture and helping them practice their English through a preplanned curriculum, alongside 45 amazing educators from across America. What a privilege to learn from one another while sharing this experience in China.
Here’s to new friendships, lifelong learning, and another unforgettable adventure. Feeling truly blessed and excited for what’s ahead! 🇨🇳✈️🌏🇺🇸 AdventureAwaits
