Meet the team behind Mold Hunt.

What you see here isn’t just a dog and a handler — it’s a trained detection unit that finds what most inspections miss.

While others guess or rely on surface signs, we locate the exact source of hidden mold. No tearing walls open blindly. No assumptions.

He’s not distracted. Not guessing.
He’s working — and he’s trained to be right.

If something feels off in your home, there’s usually a reason.

Mold doesn’t care where it grows…
And neither do we.

Boats. Houses. Cars. Schools.
If there’s hidden mold — we’ll find it.

Most people think mold is only a ā€œhouse problem.ā€
Wrong.

We’ve detected mold in:
• Luxury boats sitting in marinas
• Daily-driven cars with that ā€œmystery smellā€
• Schools affecting kids’ health
• Homes that look perfectly clean

Our trained mold detection dog is focused on one thing only:
finding what you can’t see.

No guessing. No unnecessary demolition. Just answers.

If something feels off — trust that instinct.

Many homeowners ask if having pets at home will affect a mold detection visit.

Our trained mold detection dog is conditioned to stay focused on the task. Even when other pets are present, he remains calm and continues working to locate the scent of hidden mold sources inside the home.

As you can see in the video, his attention stays on the job — identifying areas where mold may be present behind walls, under flooring, or in other hidden spaces.

This specialized training allows us to help homeowners identify potential mold sources quickly so the next steps can be taken to address the issue.

If you are concerned about possible hidden mold in your home, our team is here to help.

Leaky windows are not just a cosmetic issue.

In Florida homes, small window leaks can quietly lead to hidden mold inside walls, under flooring, and behind trim. You might notice a musty smell, staining, or soft drywall — but often there are no visible signs at all.

Moisture + humidity = perfect mold conditions.

We recently located hidden mold caused by water intrusion around window frames. It wasn’t visible. It wasn’t obvious. But it was there.

If you live in Orlando, Miami, Palm Beach, or anywhere in humid Florida, checking for hidden moisture is critical.

Mold doesn’t need to be visible to be a problem.

You don’t want to breathe this.

What you’re seeing in this video isn’t just ā€œold furnitureā€ or surface dirt.
It’s active mold contamination living in porous materials like couches, mattresses, carpets, and wood.

Mold doesn’t stay put.
When it grows inside furniture, every time you sit, move, or walk by, spores are released into the air you breathe.

That air moves through the home — into bedrooms, HVAC systems, and living spaces — even if the mold itself isn’t visible everywhere.

In this inspection, we documented visible mold and mold-damaged furniture that had been quietly impacting indoor air quality. This is one of the most overlooked sources of exposure because people don’t expect furniture to be the problem.

If it smells musty, looks discolored, or has been exposed to moisture in the past, it’s not just a cosmetic issue.
It’s a breathing issue.

At Mold Hunt, we use trained mold detection dogs to locate contamination fast — including areas people don’t think to check.

Because clean-looking doesn’t mean clean air.

Indy alerted, then pinpointed mold in the soil of a household plant.
Mold isn’t always in walls or ceilings—overwatered plants can be a hidden source. Accurate pinpointing helps identify the exact location so it can be properly addressed.

K9 mold detection is a non-invasive method used to help identify the presence of hidden mold within a structure.

Trained detection dogs can identify mold-related odors that may not be visible during a standard visual inspection. This allows potential problem areas to be located without opening walls, floors, or ceilings.

K9 mold detection is especially useful in properties with finished surfaces, recent renovations, or areas where moisture issues may be concealed. The goal is not to replace testing or remediation, but to help narrow down locations that require further evaluation.

This approach supports more targeted inspections and helps reduce unnecessary damage to the property.

Inspection footage from a recent mold detection in an Orlando-area home.

During this evaluation, mold was detected beneath the floor, with the source traced back to the crawl space. Although the living space showed no visible signs, odor migration through the subfloor allowed the issue to be identified early.

Crawl space moisture is a common source of hidden mold in Central Florida homes, especially in humid conditions. Identifying the source location helps prevent incomplete remediation and ongoing moisture problems.

This inspection was completed using non-invasive mold detection methods to locate contamination without damaging the structure.

Hidden mold doesn’t stay where it starts.

In this home, the crawl space was contaminated with active mold growth — and that problem didn’t stop below the house. Our trained mold detection dog, Indy, alerted through the floor, pinpointing where mold odors were traveling upward from the crawl space into the living space.

This is exactly why surface checks and visual inspections aren’t enough. Mold spores and gases move through subfloors, framing, and air pathways long before stains appear upstairs. If the source isn’t found, remediation often misses the real problem.

Crawl space mold is one of the most overlooked causes of indoor air issues in Florida homes. If it’s below you, it can still affect you.

This detection allowed the homeowner to identify the true source before costly repairs and ongoing exposure continued.

We’re often asked if having another dog in the home affects a mold detection. The answer is no.
During today’s inspection, there was another dog present, and Indy stayed completely focused on his job. He’s trained to ignore distractions and work solely off odor, not movement, noise, or other animals.

A well-trained mold detection dog doesn’t get curious, playful, or distracted. When Indy is working, everything else fades out. That level of focus is exactly why canine mold detection is so effective at finding hidden mold sources that people and tools miss.

So if you have pets at home, no worries. Indy is here to work — and he takes that seriously.
