Keeping busy is an understatement! 2 Closings, 2 new listings, 2 new contracts for my buyers AND my sellers, attending 2 inspections, mid week Open House, and I spoke on my very first panel today!!

What does that look like? I helped my seller sell an investment property he had enough of, I left there and drove immediately to my Open House. I helped a family get their son his 1st home (and be close to them!) I got my two 1st time homebuyers under contract and attended a buyer inspection, and tomorrow is an inspection for my seller's new contract.

🚨 Florida Homeowners: Property Tax Update 🚨

Today at our RE/MAX of Stuart sales meeting, the Martin County Property Appraiser shared an overview of the proposed property tax amendment currently being considered in Florida.

Here are a few key takeaways:
🏡 It does NOT eliminate all property taxes.
📚 School district taxes would still apply.
🔄 Save Our Homes portability remains.
🇺🇸 Existing exemptions for veterans, seniors, widows/widowers, and certain disabled homeowners would continue.
⚖️ The proposal would change some aspects of homestead taxation, but many protections currently available to Florida homeowners would remain in place.

As always, there is a lot of misinformation circulating online. Before making decisions based on headlines, make sure you’re getting accurate information and understand how any future changes could affect your specific property.

Florida Property Tax Amendment (CS/HJR 1F): What Martin County Property Owners Need to Know.

A proposed constitutional amendment related to Florida property taxes will appear on the November 2026 General Election ballot. If approved by at least 60% of Florida voters, the changes would take effect January 1, 2027.
