The drought we are experiencing causes us to take a close look at lawn care needs and generally is effected by budgets, environmental concerns and local regulations.

Right now to be healthy grass needs water daily for two reasons.

1. 2 months of drought.
2. Temperatures in the high 80's - upper 90's.

What can you do?

First prepare in the spring by applying a balanced lawn fertilizer to strengthen root systems. Irrigate deeply to encourage roots to grow deeper. Apply Hydretain to also strengthen roots systems so that plants and grass require up to 50% less water to be healthy.

Weekly or biweekly depending on your mowing schedule I evaluate your lawn and give recommendations. Ultimately decisions for lawn care are your choice. I want you to know I always make suggestions based upon experience of managing 100's of lawns for many years with all kinds of grass types and conditions. I want to make the best decision for the long term health of your lawn. Sometimes knowing when not to mow is as important as mowing. So, when I suggest things to improve your lawn now you know why and where that comes from. I truly care and want to make your lawn look it's very best. I offer several services to include professional mowing (which always includes mowing, w**d eating, edging and blowing off debris), lawn fertilizing and landscape maintenance which includes trimming hedges and bushes along with spraying w**ds in bedding areas and concrete cracks. I come to your house every week year round for weekly service or for biweekly service we come every other week year round. I will text you every visit to let you know the lawn was mowed or what services were completed.

Mowing 1/4 acre lot or less is $165 per month for weekly service.

Biweekly mowing is $125 per month and includes two cuts which covers the month.

Landscape maintenance is $50 per month.

Fertilizing is for 1/4 acre or less $75 per quarterly application. I also offer an annual fertilizer program for $35 per month.

I use QuickBooks for invoicing. You receive a monthly email and by clicking the link in the email you can choose to pay with either debit card, credit card or bank information.

We received a good amount of rain yesterday with more rain coming today and most of this week. We have been in drought conditions, so it is needed. It does make mowing almost impossible because mowing a lawn soaked with water makes ruts in the lawn, introduces possible fungus and other lawn diseases and long term unhealthy grass allows for w**ds to take over where there was once grass. So, the best practice is to not mow in these conditions. If rain let's up we try to do some landscape maintenance but we also cannot spray w**ds in bedding areas if rain is possible within hours after spraying. We just want to keep you in the loop and share best lawn care practices. Have a great week. 😁
