A little glimpse of where I spend my Saturdays. 💛

It’s quiet here today at Edgewater–New Smyrna Cemetery, and between appointments and getting some work done, I took a walk around the grounds.

One thing I’m learning very quickly in this new chapter of my life is that a cemetery isn’t simply a place associated with loss.

It’s filled with names, marriages, families, veterans, stories, traditions and heritage.

And there are so many different ways families choose to be remembered — some traditional, some simple, some very personal.

I’m here every weekend, and if you’ve ever driven by and wondered about the cemetery, the different memorial options, cremation placement, or even just “How does all of this work?” — you are absolutely welcome to ask me.

You do not have to be ready to make arrangements to have a conversation with me.

Sometimes getting your ducks in a row starts with simply knowing what the choices are. 🦆

It’s been a quiet Saturday afternoon at the cemetery… and I’ve actually loved it. 🌿

I’ve gotten a lot accomplished today, but one of my favorite things has been spending some time on Find a Grave helping people who may live hundreds—or even thousands—of miles away see the headstones and markers of their family members.

And I kept thinking…

How incredible is that?

Something that I can walk over and photograph in just a few minutes might mean everything to someone who has been searching for a grandparent, great-grandparent, aunt, uncle or another piece of their family history.

This job keeps showing me that cemeteries aren't only about loss.

They’re full of names, stories, history, families and connections.

And apparently on a quiet Saturday afternoon, I can be part cemetery counselor… part family-history detective. 🕵️‍♀️🌿

Sharing others content is never a problem for me. I would like to thank anyone who considers helping another out, in this day and age, to be a blessing. 🦆 **DUCKS IN A ROW — WEEK 1: LOVE** 💜

Here’s something I’ve learned very quickly in this work:

**Planning ahead isn’t really about death.
It’s about love.**

It’s saying:

“I don’t want my family guessing.”

“I want them to know what I wanted.”

“I don’t want them making financial decisions while they’re grieving.”

And maybe most importantly…

**“I want them spending that time remembering me — not trying to figure everything out.”**

That’s why the very first part of the planning process is **LOVE.**

Not caskets.
Not cemetery spaces.
Not prices.

**People. Family. Wishes. Peace of mind.**

Getting your ducks in a row doesn’t mean you’re expecting something to happen.

It means you love the people who would be left to handle it. 🦆💜

And THAT is what I actually do.

There are some women who somehow make grace, strength, humor, confidence, and a little bit of sparkle look effortless.

She’s the kind of woman we all want to grow up and be. 💗
Strong enough to know who she is. Kind enough to make other people feel seen. Glamorous without apology. Funny, genuine, talented—and never afraid to be completely herself.

Maybe growing up isn’t about becoming quieter or smaller after all.

Maybe it’s about becoming more yourself. ✨

And if we can do it with fabulous hair, a big heart, and a little extra sparkle… even better. 💕
