Florida is dominating the list of places Americans are eyeing for newly built homes, with out-of-town buyers driving more than 80% of views in several Sunshine State markets.

Lakeland leads the nation, with more than 83% of new-construction views coming from outside the metro, followed by Cape Coral at 82.4%, Port St. Lucie at 80.9% and North Port at 80.5%.

Affordability and the Sun Belt lifestyle are helping fuel the demand as Americans increasingly look beyond their local housing markets for their next home.

Today was one of those days.

I spent the afternoon at the Magnolia Plaza CVS here in The Villages, representing Devoted Health Plans. Pretty table, cookies, cupcakes, a friendly face, all of it.

No new clients, no bites (well, except on the cookies).

But I did:
-Meet a few sweet girls from Middleton’s TVCS campus, who very much approved of my table and sprinkle cookies.
-Hear all about a retired chemist from Chicago turned Village golfer extraordinaire and proud owner of a silver Corvette, whose wife was busy at yoga class.
-Visit with a sweet lady and part time (for fun) Walmart greeter who moved here 21 years ago from North Carolina.

So yes, today was one of those days. An overall great one. 😊
