I’m done getting stuck in the doom scrolling loop.

It’s been too long where other people have driven the narrative in my brain and I’ve allowed it.

It’s time to focus away from lack and scarcity and the cringiness of life.

It’s time to focus on better.

It’s time to amplify the good in our life: the people that are helping, the places where it’s getting better, and places where we can act.

I’m committed to a better life and better days ahead. Are you?

I was three when Close Encounters of the Third Kind came out, so last night was my first time seeing it in a theater. And not just any theater. 70mm film at the opening night of the Palm Springs 70mm Film Festival.

That alone would have been enough.

Then they told us there was a secret double feature. Steven Spielberg’s Disclosure Day, his brand new take on alien government disclosure, hadn’t been shown to the public yet. It doesn’t hit theaters for another couple of weeks. We saw it for free.

Go see Disclosure Day. Oh my gosh.

The world has been a lot lately. The noise, the fear, the scroll that never ends. I decided a while back that I wasn’t going to let all of that steal my joy without a fight

So I made a list. Four small things I’m actually doing to keep joy winning in my life right now. Nothing revolutionary. Just intentional.

And here’s what I know to be true: joy is not a luxury. It’s not something you get to feel once things settle down. It’s the thing that carries you through until they do.

It’s also contagious. When you take care of yours, the people around you feel it.

Drop one thing in the comments that’s bringing you joy right now. I’m collecting these. We could all use more of them.

Not every “update” is actually an update, and buyers know the difference.
