Born Nelda Jean Guinn, her fashion background began in her native Texas, where she was Fashion Director and Bridal Consultant at Lichtenstein's in Corpus Christi, later becoming Fashion Director of Lowenstein's of Memphis, Tennessee, where her activities included a television show spotlighting fashion and working for five years on the set of the Mr. She moved onto New York and became a designer fo
r the Betty Barclay Apparel line, owned by Linsk of Philadelphia and California, Betty Barclay, in fact, became her trade name in the "Big Apple", as well as in fashionable European cities where she traveled extensively, selecting fabrics and performing sketches for the company. She married her boss, the late Joeseph Linsk and made Palm Springs their permanent home in the mid 1960's. She and her late husband established the desert's most prestigious art gallery, "Gallerie du Jonelle", (a combination of their first names). They had just purchased the Edgar Kaufmann Estate and acquired art for their new home and enjoyed it so much that they decided to make it a business. Nelda Linsk was awarded the most fashionable by the, "Mannequins League of Southern California". Only two were chosen every year from all over Southern California. One of 10 recipients of the,"Most Successful Realtor in the Coachella Valley" by Palm Springs Life Magazine. Recipient of the Palm Springs Chamber of Commerce's Athena Award for, "Entrepreneurial Business Woman of the Year," in 1997. Woman of the Year, 2011-2012 by "The National Association of Professional Women". Fomerly co-owner of Coldwell Banker Eadie Adams Realty, Palm Springs, CA.
