Walt Disney lived in Palm Springs from 1948 to 1966. Here's where.

Smoke Tree Ranch. A 50-home gated equestrian community founded in 1936. Disney bought in 1948, summered there for 18 years, and the deed history is publicly verifiable.

There are still ~50 homes in the ranch. Each has its own pedigree.

James Bond fought a fight scene here. It's a real Palm Springs home you can see.

The Elrod House. 2175 Southridge. Designed by John Lautner in 1968. Featured in Diamonds Are Forever (1971) — the scene with Bambi and Thumper.

It's still privately owned. Provenance verified through the Lautner Foundation archive.

I tour Palm Springs homes for a living. This one shocked me.

Albert Frey designed his own house in 1963 by literally building it around a boulder. Today, you can still see the 8-foot granite slab inside the living room.

It's the Frey House II. 686 Palisades Drive. Only ~3 owners in 60 years.

The hidden premium in Palm Springs real estate: mid-century modern architecture.

We analyzed 340 sales in the last 12 months. Verified MCM homes (built 1940-1975, original architectural integrity) sold at a 22% premium over comparable non-MCM properties — adjusting for size, condition, and location.

The premium is highest in Movie Colony (28%) and lowest in Desert Highland (11%).

Buyers paying the MCM premium are buying a finite inventory. There are no new ones being built.
