Father's Day is near, and once again I find myself wishing for the impossible.

I wish you were here.

I wish I could hand you a card and watch you smile. I wish I could hear your voice. I wish I could sit beside you and talk about life the way we used to.

There are so many things I would tell you.

I would tell you about the challenges I've faced. I would tell you about the victories you would have been proud of. I would tell you how often I still think about you.

Most of all, I would tell you thank you.

Thank you for every sacrifice you made.

Thank you for every lesson you taught.

Thank you for every moment you spent helping me become who I am today.

Father's Day reminds me how much I miss you.

But it also reminds me how lucky I was to call you Dad.
