Let's be REAL.

Su***de has crossed my mind before, and I almost went through with it many years ago.

It is true that we are living in exceptionally hard times and this is one of the biggest risk factors for mental health imbalances, including su***de.

How can you help someone (and yourself) when these thoughts arise?

Here are some of my favorite tips:

- move your body ; walk, exercise, dance
- listen to uplifting music
- breathing exercises; deep belly breaths
- journal; write out your feelings, get them out
- talk to someone ; a friend, a loved one, a pet
- make a gratitude list
- ask if you are feeling hungry, tired or hot/cold and then fix it
- consider seeking a therapist when you are ready to

Working with a holistic health provider and incorporating mind body medicine like acupuncture or yoga can help address the underlying causes and help to manage emotions with stability and grace.
