the light shines
a way in the darkness.
which is the “true” light to follow?
you need to go farther
than your brothers and sisters—
the tide is low now.
the sea, she rises to meet you
affirm your direction
she leaves, you spiral
time to find your way anew.
have I been here before?
is the light that is guiding
me, mine?
spirals within spirals
time unbounded
one way or another
back to mother ocean we go.
with each step towards the light,
each step away to the dark,
time passes
messengers come
help is offered, given.
you see her in your soul.
you hear her, sense her, smell her.
this world has changed
since the time
of the ancients.
your ancestors were met with
distractions different from these.
new ways, New Earth—
new path, same ocean.
