I bought an interesting plant this year from B&M Greenhouse in Farmville. It's an annual in our planting zone, but it is so cool! The common name is Hairy Balls which got my attention, but the botanical name is Gomphocarpus physocarpus. It's in the milkweed family, so it's a larvae food source for Monarch butterflies. It is about 5 ft tall and 3 ft wide.
