Mark your calendars if you are eligible for a Homestead Exemption in Sarpy County!

Applications for the Nebraska Homestead tax exemption program will be available in February.

The Nebraska Homestead Exemption program is a property tax relief program for qualified individuals who own a home in Nebraska. People age 65 or older, disabled individuals, veterans and others are eligible to apply.

Preprinted homestead exemption applications will be mailed to people who have received an exemption in the past. Returning Sarpy County applicants should expect to receive their forms by mail in mid-February.

New applicants can stop by or call by the Assessor’s Office or download applications via the state’s website on February 2: https://revenue.nebraska.gov/PAD/homestead-exemption

The state website also will include eligibility details.

The Assessor's Office processes Homestead exemption applications. The deadline to apply is June 30.
