Hero in our midst.
I'd like to reach out and thank one of our residents, Damonte Scott, who went above and beyond to help put out a fire in his neighbors apartment. There was a kitchen fire caused by an unattended burner left on accidentally by the apartment resident. Damonte, seeing the smoke coming out of his neighbors apartment, ran in with a jug of water and proceeded to put the fire out. What makes this so heroic, is that the fire was so hot by that time, that the smoke detector in the bedroom, 20 feet away, was melted. Also, there was another resident in the bedroom who did not react to the smoke detectors blaring who might have perished without Damonte's effort. So, Damonte, thank you for your heroic intervention - you saved not only the apartment, but possibly the whole building and at least one life.
