3 years ago I officially obtained my real estate license.

I grew up in the real estate industry. I remember the long hours waiting in the car while my mom showed property or having to stop what we were doing so she could type a contract. I watched her hustle from house to house for nearly my entire life. As a kid, I honestly wanted no part of real estate.

Then one day, she asked me if I had interest in ever attending real estate school. I thought about it and decided, "What's the worst that can happen?" and gave it a shot.

I was still in high school, serving at a local restaurant, and attending real estate school classes at night so I could take the test after I graduated.

I will never forget the overwhelming emotions the day I passed my test. I was eager to get started, thankful, and relieved. I felt like all my hard work had paid off. Little did I know, that was only the beginning.

Now I get to help my peers, family, and complete strangers that become friends start their real estate portfolio. The feeling of handing someone the keys to their first home is unmatched. The joy on a client's face after we close on the home they have always dreamed of owning is so fulfilling.

However, it hasn't always been glamorous and I don't intend it always will be. I have watched deals fall apart, offers get rejected, or unfortunate events occur and people are no longer able to buy or sell. There have been times I wanted to quit.

But being part of someone's real estate journey is so rewarding and I can't wait to see what my next 12 months has in store! ✨🪧🏡🩷🗝️

Today I thought I’d give you a behind-the-scenes look at how I prepare for the month ahead! First things first, I sit down and write out my biggest goals for the month. Sometimes it’s something simple like committing to doing an extra video for social media, or sometimes it’s setting a specific number of houses I would LIKE to list this month. Next, I write down plans in my planner to help me accomplish those goals. Seeing tasks on paper and marking them off as I go help me get things done and motivate me to keep going. Finally, I like to write down any important dates that relate to clients or coworkers! Birthdays, home anniversaries, and holidays are all great ways to show those around me that I’m still thinking about them.

Moving is the most stressful part of buying or selling a home, would you agree?

That's why I've got some tips to help you on your next move!

(1) Stock up early on packing supplies. You'll need more than you think! This includes boxes, bubble wrap, tape, and markers! 📦
(2) Schedule your moving company ASAP. They have busy schedules! 🚚
(3) Pack boxes by room and include detailed labels like, "kitchen pots and pans" or "master bathroom toiletries." ✍🏻
(4) Load the boxes you need first, last! The last boxes on the truck come off first. These things include medication, toiletries, or cleaning supplies 💊
(5) Have a plan for your kids and pets on moving day. With the hustle and bustle, it will ensure that no one gets hurt, in the way, or lost 🐕‍🦺

I thought Real Estate would be a walk in the park. In reality, it’s more like being an adult and trying to run, swing, slide, spin on the merry-go-round, flip from the monkey bars, and crawl through the tunnels; all while on the phone with a clients, lender, inspector, and title attorney at the same time... with a computer in your hand 🤦🏻‍♀️🎡 It can be exhausting, but it’s so much fun and I love what I do! 💗
