Utah just came in #2 in the nation for best states to relocate to — and honestly, the details matter more than the ranking.

ConsumerAffairs' 2026 study looked at affordability, safety, economic strength, healthcare, education and quality of life across all 50 states. After two years at #1, Utah slipped to second behind New Hampshire. But here's what stood out to us:

🥇 #1 in the country for economic strength — 3.8% unemployment vs. 4.6% nationally, and 15.7% job growth from 2019–2024
🛡️ Among the safest states — 2.3 violent crimes per 1,000 residents vs. a 3.6 national average
💲 Top 10 for affordability — cost of living runs about 1% below the national average

The report also flagged where Utah has room to grow: healthcare, education, and quality-of-life metrics. Worth knowing either way.
