Head Coach Carlos Panizo - Maine South High School In just his second year leading the Maine South Hawks girls flag football program, Head Coach Carlos Panizo has guided his team to a 9–1 start, including victories over Hersey High School (27–18) and Taft High School (33–0) over the weekend. The Hawks, ranked sixth in the state, have quickly established themselves as one of Illinois’ premier programs, continuing a tradition of excellence that has seen them lose only six times in 47 games across three seasons. Off the field, Coach Panizo serves as Maine South’s School Resource Officer, working to ensure the safety of both his school and community. His players know him not only as their coach but also as a mentor dedicated to their growth, safety and success outside of the field. His leadership continues to elevate Maine South Hawks’ program while serving as an example of the impact girls flag football can have in shaping strong, resilient student-athletes. The Maine South Hawks will look to continue their dominant run when they travel to Addison, Ill., to face the Addison Trail Blazers on Friday, Sept. 12, before hosting the Lane Tech Champions on Saturday, Sept. 13.
Congratulations SRO Panizo 🏈🎖
