Lakewood Ranch Ice Multiplex Moves Forward
Manatee County commissioners have unanimously approved moving forward with a public-private partnership that could bring a major indoor ice and sports complex to Premier Sports Campus North in Lakewood Ranch. The project would be developed by Icemann Development, the company behind AdventHealth Center Ice in Wesley Chapel and the TGH Iceplex training facility for the Tampa Bay Lightning.

What Will Be Included?
The facility is planned as much more than an ice rink:

* Food and beverage venues
* Pro shop and retail space
* Sports medicine and orthopedic services
* Athletic training facilities
* Surface parking plus an approximately 800-space parking garage
The project also addresses a long-standing shortage of ice time and rink capacity in the region. Local hockey programs currently rely heavily on the Ellenton Ice and Sports Complex, which often operates near capacity.
Who is paying for it?
Icemann Development would fund and operate the facility. Manatee County’s contribution would be infrastructure support funded through tourist development revenues rather than property taxes.*
