Sheriff Wells was honored to be a part of this morning's press conference hosted by Ashley Moody at the Bradenton Police Dept. in support of Congressman Vern Buchanan's which would make the intentional killing, or attempted killing, of law enforcement officers and other first responders acting in the line of duty an aggravating factor under the federal death penalty statute.

Thank you for your service to MHS Class of 2017 graduate and United States Army Spc Nicholas Charles Panipinto, an infantry member of the 3rd Armored Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division. Nick was killed last week at Camp Humphreys, South Korea when a Bradley Fighting Vehicle rolled over during a training exercise.

Military services will be held at Sarasota National Cemetery and a memorial ceremony will also be held in South Korea for the soldiers in his unit.
