I just shared a brief market update breaking down what I’m actually seeing across the San Gabriel Valley — especially for homeowners who are quietly planning their next move and want to understand the landscape before making any decisions.

This isn’t hype or a sales pitch. It’s a practical look at what matters right now and what to watch as we head into the new year.

As the Thanksgiving noise fades, the gratitude hits a little deeper. This weekend gave me a chance to slow down and think about the families I’ve helped here in the San Gabriel Valley, and the creators and professionals I’ve coached this year. I’m closing out 2025 with purpose and stepping into 2026 with a clearer head and a grateful heart. Wishing the same for you and yours.

Today we honor those who serve and the families who stand beside them. 🇺🇸
Even with a government shutdown, their dedication never stops. It’s a good reminder that strength and consistency matter most when things feel uncertain. Thank you to every veteran, near and far, for showing us what real commitment looks like.

Finding Meaning in Unexpected Places. The other day, while out with my kids at the local playground, I stumbled on a torn page from an old book. Most people would’ve seen trash. But the words jumped out at me like they were left there on purpose. The author, Patricia MacLachlan, wrote about her characters as family and described writing as the chance to make things “come out the way I want them to.”

It struck me that real estate is a lot like that. Families come with fears, dreams, and chapters from their past—and part of my role as a Realtor is helping set those pieces down in a way that feels right. Not perfect, not polished beyond recognition, but right.

The truth is, inspiration doesn’t always show up in the boardroom or a business plan. Sometimes it shows up in the dust at a neighborhood playground.

If you’re in a season of searching—whether that’s for a new home, a bigger chapter, or just a different perspective—remember this: meaning often shows up where you least expect it, if you’re willing to see it.

I’m Alex, your family-first local property matchmaker. Research at the expense of action is pointless, so let’s get real about your next chapter. Schedule a no-pressure discovery call with me today: https://calendly.com/alexisestevez

🎬 There’s No Place Like Home: What The Wizard of Oz at The Sphere Reminded Me About Living in Southern California

By Alexis Estevez – Pasadena Real Estate Expert | Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices

If you’ve ever watched The Wizard of Oz and felt something stir — maybe it’s nostalgia, maybe it’s the music, or that line, “There’s no place like home” — then you might understand why the latest reimagining of this classic story hit me the way it did.

I recently watched a preview of the new AI-enhanced Wizard of Oz that’s coming to The Sphere in Las Vegas. It opens August 28th, and honestly, it’s something else entirely. We’re talking full-scale 16K visuals, a remastered score with a live 80-piece orchestra, and immersive tech that lets you actually feel the wind, smell the flowers, and walk with Dorothy down the Yellow Brick Road.

It’s not just a movie — it’s an experience.
Oz… or Somewhere in the San Gabriel Valley?

Here’s the thing that really caught me off guard: the scenery. The poppy fields, the distant mountains, the golden light filtering through the trees — it all looked oddly familiar. I found myself thinking, Wait… is this supposed to be Kansas, or somewhere off Loma Alta Drive?

Of course, it wasn’t actually modeled after California. But it says something when the visual effects in a high-tech reimagining of Oz end up feeling a lot like home.
Real Life Magic

That’s the part that stuck with me. We spend so much time chasing “more” — more space, more upgrades, more square footage — but sometimes the real magic is already right outside your door. If you live in Pasadena, Altadena, or anywhere near the San Gabriel Mountains, you probably know what I mean.

The light hits different here. The seasons shift subtly, but beautifully. And there’s this sense of calm — even when life isn’t exactly calm.
Not Just a Movie — A Reminder

The Sphere’s version of The Wizard of Oz isn’t just a tech showcase. It’s a gentle nudge. A reminder that for all the places we could go, home still holds the most meaning. The places where our kids grow up, where we host birthdays in the backyard, where quiet mornings and loud family dinners coexist.

It’s easy to take it for granted — until something (even an AI-powered film) reminds you not to.
When You're Ready

If you’ve been thinking about your next move — whether that’s upsizing, downsizing, or just finally planting roots somewhere that feels more like you — I’d love to be part of that conversation.

No pressure. No pitch. Just perspective from someone who lives here, works here, and gets what home means.

From Frustration to Freedom: The Day I Stopped Serving the Wrong People.

Some people hire you because they want growth. Others hire you because they want control.

I’ve worked with both—and I’ve learned the hard way:
• Narcissists with lame ideas will always waste your time.
• They don’t want your input—they want affirmation.
• They’re not building—they’re performing.

Contrast that with true visionaries:
• Clients who have a strategy
• Trust your process
• They want to collaborate—not dominate.

That’s the client I work with now.

“I stopped doing survival work that kept me small—and started partnering with people building real value.”

If you’re still stuck working with “passion-project” people who want champagne results on a Kool-Aid budget… it’s time to evolve.

Here’s how:
✅ Vet for vision, not vanity.
✅ Ask about their why—if it’s weak, so will the project be.
✅ Say no to chaos. Say yes to clarity.

I’m now a Realtor focused on family-first buyers, aspiring investors, and clients who know the difference between a hustle and a plan.

Let’s build something real.

The Hard Drive and the Hard Lesson

A client ghosted me after months of disorganized feedback and delayed payments. But the real issue wasn’t him—it was me.

I was still craving closure from someone who didn’t deserve more of my time.

Lesson learned:
“You don’t owe closure to those who ignored your boundaries. You owe momentum to your future.”

And here’s the twist:
• The minute I emotionally moved on, my business opened up.
• I attracted students and clients who respected my time.
• I built out new systems.
• I cleared the emotional clutter—and the literal drive.

Tips for entrepreneurs in transition:
🧠 Resist the temptation to re-explain yourself to someone who’s already made their values clear.
🧹 Put an expiration date on emotional clutter—emails, hard drives, old messages.
🔥 Use your resentment as fuel, not shackles. Build from it, don’t dwell in it.
