Everyone is waiting for 3% mortgage rates to come back.

But history tells a different story.

There were periods when buyers were purchasing homes with rates near 10%, 14%, and even higher.

In fact, the 30-year fixed mortgage rate reached a record high of 18.63% in 1981.
Today, the average 30-year fixed mortgage rate is around 7.28%.

Does that mean rates donā€™t matter?
Of course not.

Your interest rate has a major impact on your monthly payment and buying power.

But waiting indefinitely for 3% rates can also mean putting your life on hold for a market that may look very different by the time rates get there if they do.

The better question is:
