Real Estate Kate is a native of Pasadena and attributes her passion for real estate to growing up immersed in the San Gabriel Valley’s incredible array of architecture found in some of the most beautiful neighborhoods in all of California. After many years in LA’s legal field, Kate's entrepreneurial spirit led her in a totally different direction. Working with a local Pasadena band, booking shows,
assisting with the band’s marketing/promotions, she started to attract the attention of other musicians needing help with their band’s businesses. Being a quick study and talented networker served her well in those earlier years, especially since she had no experience or contacts in the music industry. Within a year, she had founded her own record label/management/booking company; Soulflower Records, with three bands and a sizable hip hop crew on her roster. For the next few years, Kate worked tirelessly developing these artists' brands, booking shows, cultivating fan bases, co-producing EP’s/full length albums, facilitating distribution/radio play, coordinating/managing tours, etc. on her own, all the while creating a name in the local music scene for herself and her label. Kate had found her calling, or so she thought...
As is life, she encountered a few ups and downs and felt it was time for a change. In 1998 Kate moved to Mammoth 'for a season' to work at the mountain and strategize what she would do next in the music industry, but alas she stayed for six years! Kate's real estate career started in Mammoth in 2001, selling vacation homes/condos. She went from managing and marketing musicians to marketing homes. It was actually a great transition, as she utilized the talents she developed with musicians on buyers and sellers. From Mammoth, Kate moved to Bend, OR where she was a successful real estate broker for a number of years before making her way back home to Pasadena. Her lifetime love of and exposure to exceptional architecture paved the way for her to specialize in architectural homes and historic districts throughout Los Angeles. She is blessed to be a top producer at the best real estate group in Los Angeles, John Aaroe Group, who has an unparalleled architectural division, Aaroe Architectural, of which Kate is a Director. Since her return, she has gone back to her service roots and become involved with a number of nonprofit organizations. She was acting Chair of PFAR’s Historic Preservation Committee for the past 3 years, teaching the importance of preserving historic property to other Realtors. Kate spends what free time she has volunteering for the Pasadena Heritage Society, the Cancer Support Community of Pasadena and acting as a docent for many local historic home tours in the area. As her first love was music, Kate’s 2016 goal is to find a board or foundation to join whose focus is on providing music lessons, instruments, musical education, etc. to children.
