A reminder! If you see smoke today, Friday, July 10th, in and around Santa Margarita, there is a controlled burn scheduled for the area. County Fire in cooperation with private landowners and the County Air Pollution Control District (APCD) is conducting a prescribed burn in the area weather conditions permitting. It's part of an ongoing vegetation management effort targeting yellow star thistle, a highly invasive plant. The project will also help reduce wildfire fuels.
Smoke may be visible throughout the area, including along Highway 58, Pozo Road, and potentially Highway 101. For more information, visit ReadyforWildfire.org.

The Paso Robles City Council has adopted the City’s Operating and Capital Budget Budget for fiscal years 2026/27 and 2027/28, a balanced financial plan that preserves essential services, maintains strong reserves, and invests in the community’s future.

The adopted budget includes:
✅Continued investment in police, fire, and emergency services, supported by Measure J-20 funding.
✅ More than $25 million in roadway repairs and improvements funded in part by Measure I-24.
✅ Approximately $68 million in capital projects over the next two years.
✅ Efforts to strengthen economic resilience through business development and aerospace opportunities.
✅ Investments in parks, arts, senior services, and other quality-of-life programs.

For the first time, the budget also includes a Strategic Work Plan and City Vision Statement, creating a clear roadmap for implementing Council priorities and community goals.
