We were so happy to have Give Thanks & Give Back, Inc. join us for our 50th Anniversary Community Block Party and Resource Fair.

🌟 COMMUNITY PARTNER SPOTLIGHT: WELLPOINT 🌟

Did you meet the Wellpoint team at our 50th Anniversary Community Block Party and Resource Fair? 💙💛

Wellpoint joined us on August 8 to connect families with valuable health information and community resources. As an NJ FamilyCare managed care organization, Wellpoint helps eligible New Jersey residents access doctors, specialists, behavioral health services, pharmacies, and support for their physical, emotional, and social well-being.

Their work also helps connect families with local resources for food, housing, employment, and other everyday needs.

We sincerely thank the Wellpoint team for celebrating with us, sharing important information, and supporting the Paterson community.

PATERSON, NJ | On Saturday, August 8, 2026, the Hispanic Multi-Purpose Service Center welcomed community leaders, partners, families, and supporters to its Community Block Party and Resource Fair at the María Magda Hispanic Multi-Purpose Service Center in Paterson.

During the celebration, HMPSC was honored to welcome New Jersey’s Legislative District 35 delegation: Senator Benjie E. Wimberly, Assemblyman Al Abdelaziz, and Assemblyman Kenyatta Stewart.

The delegation shared the exciting announcement that $1 million in state aid had been secured for HMPSC. This significant investment will help strengthen the Center and its ability to continue serving individuals and families throughout the community.

As HMPSC celebrates 50 years of service, we remain committed to supporting our community with dignity, compassion, and purpose. This investment will help ensure that the Center’s important work continues for generations to come.

HMPSC extends its sincere appreciation to Senator Wimberly, Assemblyman Abdelaziz, Assemblyman Stewart, and the entire Legislative District 35 team for recognizing the importance of our mission and supporting the community we proudly serve.

We also thank the many community leaders, organizations, volunteers, and families who joined us and helped make the celebration so memorable.

Today, we remember our founder, Hon. Maria Magda O’Keefe, on the anniversary of her passing.

Magda gave so much of her life to this community. She believed in helping people, opening doors, bringing people together, and making sure that anyone who came to El Centro Hispano had a place where they could feel welcomed and supported.

Her work touched generations of families, and her legacy continues to live through the people she helped, the relationships she built, and the Center she loved so deeply.

Today, we would love to hear from the community that knew her.
